Planned Parenthood Affiliates in Missouri Announce New Leaders
It’s an exciting time for those who care about access to reproductive health services and decision making for all. Both Planned Parenthood affiliates with health centers in Missouri have new leaders! Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid Missouri announced in July that Laura McQuade would bring her experience from the Center for Reproductive Rights to Missouri and Kansas as their new CEO. In November, Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri announced that seasoned Vice President of Patient Services, Mary Kogut, would transition into CEO. We look forward to this new energy, commitment and leadership.

ICYMI: Rep. Files Bill That Would Require Women To Get a Man’s Permission Before Having an Abortion
Rep. Rick Brattin (R-55) filed HB 131, which would require a woman to get notarized permission from her male partner before she can have an abortion. In its written form, the only exceptions are in cases in which the pregnancy is a medical emergency or the result of rape or incest. In an interview, Representative Brattin told Mother Jones that rape exception only applies to a “legitimate rape” that has been reported to authorities.
